GET INVOLVED this year at SES, join a committee!
Committees & Co-Chair Opportunities:
Hospitality: Do you like to entertain & be creative? This is the committee for you! Help create hospitality within SES throughout the year. Examples of types of hospitality events/meetings are planning refreshments during PTA Meetings, planning and organizing Teacher & Staff Appreciation days/week, pickup donuts & coffee for our carpool staff just because, and surprise our children after statewide testing.
Membership: Help families understand the importance of the PTA and the role it plays in strengthening SES. Requires volunteering during events to sell memberships and find ways to encourage parents to join PTA.
Reflections: Reflections contest is an annual contest held by the National PTA. The contest is theme related and consists of literature, music, photography and visual arts created by students. Volunteers are needed to help promote the program to students, organize and process entries. For more information contact: Kristin Dabson.
Yearbook: This committee will create and sell yearbooks for the students and staff of Smyrna Elementary. Activities will include creative input on layout, photography, copy writing, sales and distribution of the yearbook. This is a great committee for those working parents who want to volunteer.
Passive Income/Shopping Rewards: This committee is great for those working parents who want to volunteer but can't be at the school during the day. Committee helps organize Box Tops and encourages parents to clip box tops in return for money that comes back to SES. This also includes educating about Target/Amazon Smile/Kroger/Publix shopping cards by simply informing parents and staff about the easy ways to support Smyrna Elementary by doing the same things they do every day.
Spirit Wear: Show your Smyrna Star spirit!!! This committee will coordinate volunteers to sell Smyrna Star merchandise at our PTA events & ASP (monthly) and help maintain inventory and find new spirit items by placing orders with suppliers. For more information contact Hayli McQuade.
Movie Night: Enjoy a night under the stars with our fall movie night. Volunteers are needed to coordinate food, entertainment, set up and clean up. Great committee for those working parents who want to volunteer.
